Here are some very artfully done papercut illustrations by Graça Brohm from Holland that I saw on her innovative portfolio site.
What is clever, apart from the excellent style in the illustrations themselves, is the use of negative space and shadow to add extra depth to each piece.

Interesting works. The use of negative space is like the projects of Norma Bar. And Shadow is a good idea.

wow i love these, makes me want to try cutting up paper instead of drawing on it…..hmmm where did i put my craft knife, though…?

great find. the more simple the design, the more striking it is with the use of shadows…
so right – simplicity strikes the right chords when looking at light effects
