If you’re in London this weekend, have some stockings to fill but not much cash to do it with, you might want to make your way over to Somerset House. Braving the snow will soon be forgotten after a warm glass of mulled wine and having soaked up the other festivities.

As part of Super Christmas Market at Somerset House, there’ll be a chance to pick up affordable gifts at Poundshop, each for only £1. Design collective Household and illustrator Sara Melin teamed up in April 2010 to launch the first Poundshop and have since continued to present around 50 artists and designers at their last shop during London Design Week (shown below).

This weekend, in a new shop designed by Smith and Wightman, they’ll be at it again with an expected 70 artists and designers taking part. Although part of the Christmas market, if the last shop is anything to go by, you can expect a variety of products ranging from stationary and fashion, to games and kitchenware. Once you’ve filled your boots with jingling bargains, you’ll also be able to enjoy the rides in the Christmas Spectacular and ponder exclusive gifts in the Christmas Bazaar.

Poundshop will be at Somerset House this Friday between 6-9pm, and then again on Saturday the 11th and Sunday the 12th between 11am and 7pm. Admission is £4, £3 for concessions.
