To create his images, Steven Tabbutt uses everything from paints and pastels to digital imagery, and to a point where you’re unsure where one medium starts and another begins. This fits perfectly with his illustrations, where highly realistic portraits sit surrounded by fantasy.

Carine Brancowitz‘s pencil is fine and soft, but at times dark and strong. What draws me into her style is her decisions as to where her drawing will be full and descriptive, and where it will be stripped back and simple.

The figures in Joshua Meyer‘s paintings seem to appear slowly out of the ensemble of chaotic marks. For me, even though each brush stroke has a visible energy and emotion driven into it, there’s a kind of serenity in the way that the images come together.
Eric Nyquist‘s design and illustration work often consists of highly detailed, focused drawings. He has created his intricate work for a range of big clients such as Heineken and Disney.
In his commissioned work, you can see that he can produce carefully thought-out, considered designs. In contrast to that, I thought that it would be interesting to have a look at his sketchbook pages, where he allows his pen to run free across the page.
