Irma Gruenholz, aka Deplastilina, who we featured a while ago, creates these charming clay sculptures for not only printed media but also as props and prototypes for a range of clients. Because of the attention to their smooth surfaces and subtle details, you’d be excused for thinking some of them were paintings.

I think it’s great to see an artist working in such a specialised way. There is a unique quality to 3D illustration, especially opposed to digital imagery. Apart from feeling like it being from a children’s book I’ve never seen, Irma’s work inspires me to try something new.
