Drawn Digital Realism by Gabz

Posted at 4pm on 05/16/11 by

Polish illustrator, Grzegorz Domaradzki aka Gabz, patiently creates beautiful, photorealistic pencil drawings, then renders them digitally to give them a defining, contemporary edge. It’s always good to see a high quality of genuine skill holding its own in images that obviously have a large digital element to them.

It’s both of these different ways of working that I love about his work, particularly here in his portraits and fashion illustration. On one side, you can appreciate his accomplished pencil work, but I also love the computer effects and compositional accents that make the images look so current.

After graduating with a Masters in Graphic Arts and Drawing from the Academy of Fine Arts in Poland, Gabz worked as an illustrator with a range of advertising agencies. He now works freelance and has been featured in Computer Arts Magazine and Digital Arts Magazine, among others.
