Angie Wang Illustration in Colour

Posted at 11pm on 05/18/11 by

Portland-based illustrator and cartoonist, Angie Wang uses some uniquely beautiful colour palettes. I love the unusual combination of colours in the first image here, where peach, purple, orange, mustard and a deep shade of pink work surprisingly well together. She regularly uses different palettes to create varying moods in her work. Below, you can see how a different set of colours moves her work from luxurious, to more realistic, to bold and more cartoon-like.

Apart from her editorial work for magazines and newspapers, Angie also has a illustrated fashion blog, Wangie. Things like that are a great idea to help illustrators produce a steady flow of work and good place to regularly catch lovely drawings.
