Duncan Sham’s experimental approach to materials in his typographical work brings a real physicality to them, which is original from one project to the next. Whether they are slick, digital designs or meticulously hand-made, the scale and level of details often makes them mini sets.

We like the range from paper-crafted work like this project, ‘History in the Making’ to fun illustrative work like, ‘Taste is a Matter of Taste’. But, it’s no surprise that his inventive approach reaps a wealth of varying results with all his experience working at the well-known design agency, Valut49. He tells us more and gives us a peek at his surrounding New York area.

I am a UK born and bred designer who is based in the heart of New York City. I am currently working as a senior designer for world renowned design agency ‘Vault49′ and have been since early 2008.

I work in a variety of different medias, from digitally created artworks … to beautifully handcrafted pieces. I am constantly experimenting in the way I work and am always exploring new unconventional methods of executing a design. And, just as a warning … I have a slight obsession for detail!
