We really like the glitch-kitch, mashup style in artist, Tchmo’s work. They’re essentially digital collages but, through a process of interference and filtering, a much more organic, textural feel is created.
The strength in the work comes from the collision of contrasting themes against one another. Retro photographs of ’80s celebrities are swamped by an influx of wholly modern technology.Glaring, bright colours are set against dark, almost morbid imagery. However, amongst it all, Tchmo manages to find the beauty in the smaller, unexpected details, in the mistakes and the malfunctions.
