You’re walking to your car on the basement level when you stop to appreciate the stillness of the artificial light cast through the vacant car park. It’s these kinds of frozen moments that Christian Flynn captures in his paintings. While the sense of emptiness is almost tangible, he somehow manages to make strong, graphic statements without disrupting the atmosphere. In other work, he applies the same care to composition and studies of light to more local objects around him and even in his paintings of Photoshop windows.
