Jeroen Smeets Talks about New Artist Excursions Project, 'The Jaunt'

Whether you’re an artist or not, getting out into the world and experiencing something different to your day to day routine is the perfect way to find inspiration. Apart from new environments and the sense of exploration, seeing what is normal to others and how that compares to your own world is an eye opener, too. It’s an idea championed by a new project called ‘The Jaunt‘, which connects artists and travel.

Exhibition of 3D Illustration at Boxbird Gallery as Part of Brighton Fringe Festival

As part of the current annual arts festival, ‘Brighton Fringe’, Boxbird gallery are holding an exhibition of 3D illustration. The show is presenting work from illustrators, Tom Frost, Graham Carter and Helen Musselwhite. It’s on now until the 29th May and includes a portfolio review day by The Enquire Desk on the 25th.

New Anthology 'Tiny Pencil' Celebrating Pencil Illustration Out This Week

Lovers of graphite will be pleased to hear that a new biannual anthology will be launching this week with the mission to celebrate the unique qualities of illustrated work in pencil. ‘Tiny Pencil‘ will be presenting a packed out 64-page book featuring 27 established artists. The rosta includes names previously featured on Ape on the Moon such as Luke Pearson, Nick Sheehy, Jack Teagle and Lizzy Stewart.

YCN Professional Awards Call for Entries

If you’re a creative professional and have graduated within the last eight years, it’s very much worth checking out the new YCN Professional Awards. Since being founded in 2001, YCN have been providing a platform for artistic talent while also running an annual student award scheme. They are now looking to celebrate those excelling in the art and design industry and have recently announced their call for entries.
