Vector Illustrations of Rey Miserio: Juan Molinet

Argentinian illustrator Juan Molinet, otherwise known as ‘Rey Misterio’ has a bright and original portfolio of illustrations. Inspired by eastern cultures, religion and deities, as well as vintage kitsch, publications and comics, his vector work combines playfulness and contemporary style.

His work process starts with an idea drawn on a piece of paper. These are then scanned on to the computer before being vectorized in Adobe Illustrator (although this can also be done in CorelDraw, Adobe Flash and Xara X). Following this, his illustrations are touched up and edited in Adobe Photoshop.

Juan is developing his style further and hopes to exhibit his work in Buenos Aires, Argentina, where he resides. Currently he is learning more traditional methods of art, including oil painting, which he intends to incorporate into his creative processes in the future.
