Marion Fayolle’s comic illustrations are often amusingly surreal but always beautiful in both the way they are drawn and in the visual stories they tell.
She has written and illustrated three books with one, ‘In Pieces’ having been recently republished in the UK following it’s original French release. Published by Nobrow, they describe it as a collection of work that “beautifully captures the complex bonds in human nature”.
The constant play with line and texture really warms us to Marion’s work and especially to the people in it. As well as simple, printed textures, areas a diligently filled in with meticulously tight hatching. The lines are so fine and close together that the slightest distance and they merge together to create a tactile surface of their own.
