While still being relatively new, Ilustrafic is already set to feature some of the best international talent when it returns for it’s second event in a few weeks from now.

Among this year’s speakers and exhibiting artists are Ben Newman, Geneviève Gauckler, Olimpia Zagnoli, Malota, and Sam Arthur from Nobrow publishing.

Below, Ilustrafic talk about what we can expect from their conference and some of the reasons for putting together such a wonderful lineup like this.

ILUSTRAFIC is a biennial congress, linked to the Masters degree in design and illustration, which is held at the Faculty of Fine Arts at the Universitat Politècnica of València (Spain).

ILUSTRAFIC’s goal is to create a space for reflection on the image and visual culture in its various applications. This approach is opened to numerous artistic fields beyond illustration itself, covering disciplines such as design, photography, painting or animation.

We are interested in analyzing the dialectic and informative capacity of these languages, their constant renewal and its presence in the media as well as their different applications and the tools they handle.

Ilustrafic launches on 1st October with advance bookings until 17th September, see their website for more details.
