Focusing on the idea within the image, Justin Renteria attempts to breakdown his illustrations into simple compositions for a clear narrative in his concept-driven work.

As well as the clever ways he interprets the stories behind his editorial designs, we also like the cut-out, part collage, part drawing style he creates using mixed media. As he describes below, Justin uses a mixture of methods, working both by hand and digitally.

Italian illustrator and designer, Andrea Manzati was part of previously Ape on the Moon featured studio, Happycentro. She is now focusing on her own illustration work and producing these wonderful geometric images. We really like her take on some of the shapes of food and everyday items.

A rearrangement of found images, hand-drawn marks and an interest in seeking out new textural pieces give these collages by Nate Kitch a great mix of contrasting elements. The different parts are placed with meticulous care, giving the effect of being both minimal and bold.
